In 2018 NVIDIA publicly announced Mesh and Task Shaders for the Turing microarchitecture. It was the first RTX generation with hardware ray tracing which received most of the attention. Since mesh shaders fell a bit under the radar I was interested in trying out NVIDIA’s Mesh and Task Shaders and got the opportunity to work on it in a voluntary research project under supervision of Prof. Dr. Stefan Müller in 2019. This resulted in meshlet culling prototype and an introductory video published on the YouTube channel of Computational Visualistics Koblenz.
